This part is the hard one as the seeds have extremely hard shells. The seeds are collected and smashed with a stone to get the kernels inside. The traditional process is that the ripe argan fruits fall from the tree, then goats eat them up and poop out the seeds. The tree is slow growing and getting the oil is a hard job. So, argan oil comes from the kernel of the argan fruit that comes from the argan tree that grows only in Morocco. Not that it's not good, it is good, even great but reading the research about argan and a bunch of other plant oils we just do not see the big, unique differentiating factor (though that might be our fault not reading enough, obvs.) Dubbed as the " liquid gold of Morocco", we have to admit we have some trouble determining why this oil enjoys such a special miracle status. I give these five out of five stars because this is an exceptional cream blush formula for the drugstore, at a price that cannot be beat. When it comes to cosmetic oils and hype, argan oil is for sure leading the way. Cream products scare me and are my least used type of makeup, and here I am telling you that these are great. However, makeup wearers of any skill level can use these and should not feel intimidated at all. That is always a disaster waiting to happen in terms of lifting up coverage underneath, or patchiness. I always use a stipple brush to apply them with no problem, but your fingers or even a sponge will work.Īs with any cream, I recommend not layering these over powder. I find that they do dry down onto the skin and feel more like powder with that semi-matte finish. This formulation is perfectly buildable so that you have control, yet there is enough pigmentation that the blush shows up. While these cream blushes look vibrant in the pot, you should not be afraid. The term “putty” might be off-putting, but when you boil it down, these are cream makeup products. I find the formula to be lightweight, velvety, and smooth enough to melt into the skin. For starters, these blushes do meet their claims. It is time for my elf Putty Blush review! These remind me so much of their putty eye primer line, which I have also reviewed, and I say this in a good way. elf is doing a good job of providing every shade that you will ever need in only eight colors!
